WHAT IS HPPD?

Hallucinogen persisting perception disorder (HPPD) is a disorder characterized by a continual presence of sensory disturbances, most commonly visual, that are reminiscent of those generated by the use of hallucinogenic substances.

ABOUT FACES OF HPPD

A Survey of HPPD patients has been completed.

ABOUT THE SURVEY

This was a survey about HPPD. The survey measured common traits about HPPD patients. Questions on the survey were related to drug use, medical history, HPPD symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment.  Respondents were eligible to participate if they were English speaking and  at or over the age of 18.  Respondents must be diagnosed with HPPD by a medical professional. It was also necessary to have internet access to take the survey.

WHAT DOES PARTICIPATION IN THIS RESEARCH STUDY INVOLVE?

Respondents were asked to provide information about themselves and their condition on several factors.  Participation in the survey averaged about 15 minutes to take the survey.

WHY?

The study is part of the researcher’s work to help further education about HPPD. When completed the survey may be a published in a journal, magazine, or book. Participation was confidential and all identities will remain anonymous, except to the researcher. Responses were analyzed along with all survey participants to help determine what factors play a role in HPPD diagnosis and management of the disorder.
